This is a fantastic cover and a superb video to boot – it is such a fine tribute to a great band and their synth favourite – and provides a taster of the sound that’s garnered W.H. Lung a reputation as one of the best live bands in the UK. Originally released in 1979 by San Francisco synth-punk outfit, The Units, their cover of High Pressure Days slips comfortably amongst the band’s previous output and has sneaked into the end of W. H. Lung live sets of late.
High Pressure Days was recorded in the band’s new Salford studio Futuro House, started with local pals The Orielles and the track’s co-producer Lewis Johnson-Kellett.

The video, shot in Manchester in a day, sees singer Evans trapped in the corporate rat race. Evans and director, Craig Mclaughlin, said: ”The video follows the cyclical white-collar nightmare of Mr. Everyman-office-worker, as he navigates through high pressure days. His life is as stressful as it is banal until an ethereal figure on his computer screen offers him a chance for psychedelic salvation.”
