Legendary Leftfield artist donates 500 personal records in aid of UK charities – Kindness’ Christmas Dinner and food banks in Todmorden, England

Neil Barnes of Leftfield has donated 500 records from his personal collection for charity – including mint condition signed rarities – in aid of feeding people this Christmas. These will be auctioned off each day, running at the Golden Lion pub in Todmorden, England, throughout December until the 20th of the month. Leftfield will also be returning for a special Christmas Day DJ set.

Auctions take place via Matthanee Nilavongse’s (landlady at the Golden Lion) Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/hanuman.thai.9.

The ‘Kindness’ Christmas Dinner will be at Todmorden’s Unitarian Church for those in need.

The Neil Barnes (Leftfield) DJ set will also be at the Golden Lion on Monday 25th December, after the event at Todmorden’s Unitarian Church, with complimentary Thai food.

Neil – whose donation of 500 vinyl will include rarities from his personal collection, early Leftfield remixes, mint condition Leftfield records and releases from his Hard Hands label, boxed in 25 record lots – said: “I wanted to help those having a hard Christmas. I chose 500 of my records, some have never been played, others are early Hard Hand releases, one is the first ever Leftfield remix, some are in mint condition and signed by myself.”

Bidding for each day will begin at 10am until 6pm, with the highest bid after the closing time resulting in the record-box winner for that day. The box will then be shipped out the following day.

All monies raised from the auction will be invested towards the Christmas dinner with remaining funds being donated directly to Todmorden and Cornholme Food Banks, aiming to help over 100 families in the valley.
