Sepehr’s new album ‘Shaytoon’ is out today on Dark Entries – it’s pyschedelic acid and electro of the highest order

Sepehr’s album Shaytoon for Dark Entries pays homage to his Iranian heritage, while remaining true to his party roots – being a DJ and producer who forged his path in the San Francisco underground house and techno scene. His sets range from Detroit tracks, to psychedelic techno, to prime acid and electro – so this album sits nicely within his oeuvre and ticks all the right boxes for the Dark Entries label.

“We are proud to welcome back San Francisco based DJ and producer Sepehr Alimagham for his debut album Shaytoon,” the label says.

Drenched in nostalgia from his upbringing, the album pays homage to 1970s Iranian albums that were on rotation throughout his youth. The artwork pays tribute to ‘70s Iranian pop and funk albums, with bold Farsi calligraphy and portraits by Sahra Jajarmikhayat. Sepehr’s signature vibe is there, but there are also tracks that showcase a low-slung approach. It’s a proper album.

All songs have been mastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley.

This previous track by Sepehr appeared on EON Records, a label run by UK producer and DJ, A-Future. It was one of our favourite electro EPs of 2019:
